Terms of Service

Playing Shengji

These terms apply to the game at shengji.app and the Shengji Discord Activity, operated by Victor Powell. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. Questions can be sent to vicapow@gmail.com.

You must be at least 13 years old and meet any higher minimum age required where you live or by the platform you use. If you are not old enough to agree to these terms independently, a parent or guardian must agree on your behalf.

A card game for fun

The game is currently free to play. Scores, levels and cards have no monetary value. Shengji does not offer betting, cash prizes or redemption for money, and you must not use the service to organize wagers.

Game rules and automated players may change. Scores and saved games are not guaranteed to be permanent. Private links control access to private tables, so share them only with people you want to invite.

Play fairly and respect others

• Do not harass, threaten or impersonate other people, or use hateful or unlawful names, speech or other content.
• Do not try to access another player's hidden cards, credentials or private table without permission.
• Do not exploit bugs, disrupt the service, overload it, or use automation to interfere with other players.
• Share only information and content you have the right to share. Respect other players' privacy, including when using voice.

We may restrict access or close tables to address abuse, protect players, comply with law or maintain the service. You can report problems to the contact address above.

Your information and connected services

The Privacy Policy explains the information needed for multiplayer play, reconnecting, usage counts and optional voice. You remain responsible for the names and other content you share. You permit us to process and display that content as needed to provide the game; this does not transfer ownership of your content.

Playing inside Discord also requires following Discord's terms and policies. Discord is a separate service and is not the operator of Shengji. Third-party services may have their own availability limits and requirements.

Availability and responsibility

We work to keep the game usable, but it may have bugs, interruptions or lost progress. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from its use. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

You may use the game for its intended purpose. Rights to the software and artwork remain with their respective owners. Any separate open-source licenses continue to apply to the materials they cover.

Changes and leaving

You may stop using the service at any time. We may update features or these terms as the game develops. The date at the top identifies the current terms; material changes will be described on this page. If you do not agree with an update, stop using the service.
